HARARE — President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has left Harare for New York, USA, where he is set to attend the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
This year's session is running under the theme, "Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All."
The President's attendance comes at a significant moment for Zimbabwe's multilateral diplomacy, following the country's election on 3 June 2026 to the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member.
Zimbabwe will serve a two-year term from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2028.
